In a remarkable display of knowledge in the service of Africa, two distinguished alumni of SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College (HGIC), Kwesi Afrifa and Adwoa Afrifa, returned to their alma mater to share their journey and introduce an innovative project during a recent school assembly. The Abu Dhabi cultural exchange was a transformative experience for 20 students from SOS-HGIC. It marked the first-ever collaboration between SOS-HGIC, Cranleigh Abu Dhabi, and Cranleigh UK, focusing on a performing arts exchange program encompassing dance, drama, music, and art.  Accompanied by our esteemed Principal, Mrs. Dadson, as well as our dedicated art teacher, Mr. Avemega, music teacher, Mr. Ankoma-Ankasa, and our public relations officer, Ms. Mguni, our students wasted no time and dove headfirst into rehearsals in their chosen disciplines. Mr. Michael Gyampo of SOS – Hermann Gmeiner International College has been recognized by the Yale Office of Undergraduate Admissions as a recipient of the 2023 Yale Educator Award. The Yale Educator Recognition Program recognizes outstanding educators worldwide who support and inspire their students to perform at high levels and achieve excellence. During the summer break, four incoming DP(Diploma Programme) students from SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College (SOS-HGIC) named Nana Ahenfua Dankwa, Papa Yaw Amoako-Atuobi, Jake Darkoh, and Maame Afua Asabea Yeboah donated around 400 books to Nsarawa Dansoman Cluster of Schools. This community service project was focused on quality education under the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4. The students chose Dansoman Basic School for their project. They cleaned and organized the library, engaged students in reading, and aimed to promote literacy among the students. Incoming DP(Diploma Programme) student, Maame Afua Asabea Yeboah, a student at SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College, was inspired to refurbish and furnish the Kindergarten classroom block at Adidiso Municipal Assembly Basic School near Nankese in the Eastern Region. The funds raised were used to repair and paint the ceiling, supply cupboards for teaching materials, and provide furniture for the children, all amounting to GH¢6,000. Maame Afua financed the project through funds earned from selling snacks and lemonade, along with income from weekend and holiday work in her mother's stores.   She was driven by the desire to recreate the lively and colorful learning

Mr. Edem Lithur (2014), a former head boy of SOS-HGIC, recently visited his alma mater after several years. Upon arriving at the school, he was greeted by his former teachers and students who were thrilled to see him again. A group of alumni from SOS-HGIC recently gathered with students to discuss issues related to masculinity and femininity. The gathering was split into two separate forums, one for men and one for women. The men's forum, dubbed "Brotherhood and Beyond: Exploring Models For Male Excellence" was held in the dining hall. The group discussed issues related to manhood and masculinity. The discussion was led by a group of guest speakers who were invited to share their insights and experiences on the subject.  Meanwhile, the Leading Ladies forum was held in Margaret Nkrumah Hall.
