Welcome to SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College (SOS-HGIC)!  I am excited to have you here on our website, where you can discover more about who we are, what we do, and how we continue to shape and impact societies across Africa and beyond. Guided by our motto, “Knowledge in the Service of Africa”, we are dedicated to nurturing the next generation of African thinkers, doers, and leaders.

SOS-HGIC was established in 1990 as a Pan-African school of academic excellence, founded to educate students from SOS Children’s Villages across Africa alongside students from Ghana, our host country. Our philosophy embraces internationalism in its widest sense, equipping learners to become compassionate, reflective individuals who are aware of their shared humanity and proud of their African identity. In 2025, we proudly celebrated 35 years of Pan-African educational excellence, a milestone that reflects both our rich legacy and our continued commitment to the future.  

As a full International Baccalaureate (IB) World School offering the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP), we provide a holistic education that prepares students for admission to leading universities worldwide. We are immensely proud of our alumni and the impact they are making globally, with graduates contributing meaningfully in sectors such as technology, healthcare, finance, education, and international development.
