Sons & Daughters: Drama Production 2025
After six years, the SOS-HGIC stage came alive once again with colour, rhythm, and emotion as students presented a powerful performance of JC De Graft’s Sons & Daughters. From the first cue of the lights to the final bow, the production captured the audience with its humour, energy, and heartfelt storytelling.
What began as a simple idea two years ago grew into a shared dream that brought together dozens of dedicated students. One of the lead actors described it as “a vision, a hunger for something meaningful on stage – a story that would educate, entertain, and inspire.” Every student played their part with care and passion. The cast spent countless hours learning lines, studying their characters, and refining each movement. The props and costume teams transformed written descriptions into vivid scenes, while the sound and design teams worked quietly behind the curtains to make every transition seamless.

The show’s success was also built on the rhythm and artistry of our student musicians and dancers. The band’s drums, saxophones, guitars, and pianos filled the hall with energy, while traditional dancers brought an unmistakable cultural heartbeat to the performance. Together, they created a production that was both entertaining and deeply rooted in the values of SOS-HGIC.
Our teachers and directors guided the process with dedication, ensuring that the play reflected the school’s mission of holistic education. The performance was more than theatre; it was a living expression of the SOS-HGIC values of Service, Pan-Africanism, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence (SPIRE).
The enthusiastic applause that filled the hall at the end of the night said it all. The students had not only revived the school’s drama tradition but also reminded us of the power of creativity, teamwork, and purpose.
Congratulations to our entire cast, crew, and staff for bringing Sons & Daughters to life with such passion and artistry. Ayeeko!
