Knowledge in the Service of Africa!

During the summer break, four incoming DP(Diploma Programme) students from SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College (SOS-HGIC) named Nana Ahenfua Dankwa, Papa Yaw Amoako-Atuobi, Jake Darkoh, and Maame Afua Asabea Yeboah donated around 400 books to Nsarawa Dansoman Cluster of Schools. This community service project was focused on quality education under the UN Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4. The students chose Dansoman Basic School for their project. They cleaned and organized the library, engaged students in reading, and aimed to promote literacy among the students. Incoming DP(Diploma Programme) student, Maame Afua Asabea Yeboah, a student at SOS-Hermann Gmeiner International College, was inspired to refurbish and furnish the Kindergarten classroom block at Adidiso Municipal Assembly Basic School near Nankese in the Eastern Region. The funds raised were used to repair and paint the ceiling, supply cupboards for teaching materials, and provide furniture for the children, all amounting to GH¢6,000. Maame Afua financed the project through funds earned from selling snacks and lemonade, along with income from weekend and holiday work in her mother's stores.   She was driven by the desire to recreate the lively and colorful learning
