Mogul is an inclusive community of females and males that seeks to empower students through discussions on different social issues that are relevant to us. Although the purpose of Mogul is to focus on empowering females, the club seeks to tackle issues of discrimination against both males and females in hopes of creating a world where we all have equal opportunities. The Probotics Club at HGIC is a vibrant group of students with a passion for technology and a drive to create innovative solutions to real-world problems by applying said technology. Engagement and inclusion is very important to this club. As such, mini-projects are regularly undertaken to be showcased within the school community on different occasions. Some choice examples of these mini-projects are; an automatic colour sorter, a hangman game and a smart house model. The ILERA Initiative is a school club founded on the principles of good health and nutrition with the purpose of encouraging and motivating students to start or maintain a healthy life. It includes patronizing and recommending healthier food or snack options to the student body, introducing nutritious recipes to try, teaching the student body fitness do’s and don'ts, kickstarting aerobics and gym classes, and much more. With a new executive body, the ILERA Initiative plans on revealing new and exciting activities such as “Fitness Fridays” for the student body to participate in towards the goal of achieving a balanced lifestyle. The initiative of the chess club is to train the SOS-HGIC community to be independent thinkers while providing entertainment through the game of chess. The game empowers students with analysis and critical thinking skills. Additionally, chess encourages students to be tactical and strategic when approaching problems. The resilient class of 2021 have excelled themselves, and we are suitably impressed. We would like to congratulate all 98 students in the IB DP class of 2021 on their examination results; we are very proud of them and they should celebrate this moment and take pride in their achievements and examination success. A student of SOS-Herman Gmeiner International College, Chloe Elinam Mawuenyega, has donated a sum of ¢12,000 to support the Sickle Cell Foundation of Ghana. The 15-year-old, through a car wash fundraising activity, raised the said amount and presented a cheque to the Foundation in Accra last week. The activity forms part of the requirements for all Year-5 students to explore an area of personal interest with outcomes.
